A million Times is an ongoing project that continues the conceptual exploration of one of Humans since 1982’s first collaborative projects The Clock Clock (2008-2010), creating kinetic sculptures that present clocks as art objects unleashed from a solely functional existence.
The hands of multiple analogue clocks are programmed to move independently and in formation to perform abstract, dance-like choreographies, before synchronising once each minute to accurately tell the time in a digital typography.
The first of these works A Million Times was exhibited in 2013 and since then the project has developed in ambition, complexity and scale to include the 504 clockface commission for Singapore Airport A million Times at Changi, one of the world’s largest kinetic sculptures.
